    Deputies: Motorcyclist killed in crash near Saranac

    KEENE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Deputies say a motorcyclist was killed Saturday in a crash near Saranac.

    It happened around 11:25 a.m. on South Hawley Highway near Centerline Road, in Keene Township, according to the Ionia County Sheriff’s Office.

    Deputies say a motorcycle was heading south on Hawley Highway when it crashed into a car that was entering the highway from Centerline Road.

    The motorcyclist, a 60-year-old man from the Saranac area, died on scene, according to the sheriff’s office. His name was not released Saturday.

    The car’s driver and passenger were not hurt.

    Deputies continue to investigate.
