Police investigate death in Muskegon Heights

MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. (WOOD) — Police are investigating a death in Muskegon Heights Sunday morning.

Around 9 a.m., a News 8 crew saw a large police presence at Hoyt Street near Maplewood Avenue and what appeared to be a body covered by a sheet in the street. A crowd of people looked on nearby.

Police have yet to release any details about what happened, including how the person died.

A Michigan State Police forensic team was called to the scene. Hoyt Street was blocked off as police investigated.
