    Fairs, festivals and flywheelers: What to do in West Michigan this weekend

    GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — While the weather might be cooling down this weekend, the lineup of events is just heating up.

    Here is a look at what you can do the weekend of Sept. 6:

    2024 Mayors’ Grand River Cleanup

    The West Michigan Environmental Action Council is hosting the Mayors’ Grand River Cleanup for a 21st year starting this Saturday.

    The weeklong initiative will give people the chance to do their part in helping clean up the Grand river in several different locations. The event collected 7,200 pounds of trash last year.

    51st annual Eastown Streetfair

    This Saturday, the Eastown neighborhood is hosting the 51st annual Streetfair.

    The event will bring local vendors to the neighborhood along Wealthy Street, where you can find a wide variety of crafts, foods and more.

    Cars & Coffee at the Downtown Market

    If you love cars and or coffee, an event coming this Saturday to the Grand Rapids Downtown Market is for you.

    Cars & Coffee will be taking place at the market from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will feature some delicious coffee to keep you energized while checking out dozens of incredible vehicles.

    Run for Sight 5K

    The 18th annual Run for Sight 5K is happening Saturday at Pere Marquette Park in Muskegon.

    The event helps raise funds for the Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired, which helps those who are blind or have low vision.

    Rhoades McKee Reeds Lake Triathlon/Duathlon

    Get up and moving this Saturday for the 40th annual Rhoades McKee Reeds Lake Triathlon and Duathlon.

    The event will give participants the chance to compete in a variety of events to test out their endurance. It begins at 8 a.m. at John Collins Park.

    Allegan County Fair

    Friday is the start of the Allegan County Fair which is the perfect way to enjoy the changing of the seasons.

    Not only will there be the traditional fair fun like deliciously indulgent foods and carnival rides, but there will also be performances by Ludacris, Third Eye Blind and more during the duration of the fair.

    Michigan Flywheelers Antique Engine & Tractor Show

    Starting this Thursday, you can be part of the annual Michigan Flywheelers Antique Engine and Tractor Show.

    The event goes through Sunday and will allow attendees to see old farm machinery, demonstrations, parades and other live entertainment.

    Paw Paw Wine & Harvest Festival

    Paw Paw’s Wine and Harvest Festival is back for another year starting this Friday.

    There will be three days of events including a 5K race, grape stomping competition and of course plenty of wine tastings for everyone of age.

    Kalamazoo Scottish Festival

    Celebrate all things Scottish this weekend with the 2024 Kalamazoo Scottish Festival.

    Kindleberger Park will be the site for the annual event that will feature bagpipes, dancing, games, highland games and more. It’s also free to attend.

    Zeeland Peddlers’ Market

    Head on out to Zeeland this Saturday as the Peddlers’ Market makes its return to the area.

    The open-air lifestyle market will include plenty of vendors offering food, decor, furniture and more. There will also be live entertainment going on as well.
