    Man shot in head, hospitalized in Muskegon Heights

    MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. (WOOD) — A man is in the hospital after he was shot in the head late Saturday night in Muskegon Heights.

    Around 11:30 p.m., officers with the Muskegon Heights Police Department were sent to the area of Hackly Avenue and Maffett Street for a shooting. While officers were on the way, they were redirected to the intersection of Delano Avenue and Riordan Street where the victim was found inside a vehicle.

    Responding officers found a 45-year-old Muskegon area man with an apparent gunshot wound to the head.

    The police department said that the man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

    Officers were able to find the shooting scene on Baker Street near Hovey Avenue.

    The shooting remains under investigation.
