    Police: Muskegon Heights man shot ‘several’ times

    MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. (WOOD) — A man was taken to the hospital after being shot in Muskegon Heights Sunday evening, police said.

    Around 4:40 p.m., dispatch got a call reporting a shooting on Howden Street near Manahan Avenue in Muskegon Heights. Officers arrived to find a 36-year-old Muskegon Heights man in the front yard of a home on Howden Street with several gunshot wounds.

    He was taken to the hospital in serious condition, police said.

    Police determined the shooting happened in the backyard of a home on Howden Street. They did not provide any information about a suspect.

    Detectives with Muskegon Heights Police Department and Michigan State Police were on scene Sunday night collecting evidence to investigate.

    Why not give more details? Why don’t they ever explain that 98% of these shootings are drug related! The HUGE DRUG DEALING problems in Muskegon Heights. Maybe if the drug traffickers were dealt with then shooting would go down.
