Police: Man shot, killed in Benton Township

BENTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities say a man was shot and killed at a large party in Benton Township Sunday morning.

The Benton Township Police Department said around 2 a.m. Sunday, it heard gunshots near a large party at the intersection of Broadway and Emery Avenue.

In a nearby field, the police department said officers found a man with multiple gunshot wounds. The man was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The police department did not release his name.

The police department said hundreds of people were at the party and believed there were multiple witnesses to the shooting.
