    Grand Haven SOS office shuts down for remodel

    GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (WOOD) — A heads up for residents in Ottawa County: The Secretary of State’s office on Robbins Road in Grand Haven will shut down for several days for a remodeling project.

    The office will be closed starting Monday, Sept. 9. It is expected to reopen on Monday, Sept. 23.

    The Michigan Department of State reminded residents that many tasks can be done online through the MDOS website and others can be done at self-service stations across the area.

    “Self-service stations provide instant registration, driver’s license and ID renewals, as well as some other transactions, and offer nine language options, including Spanish,” the MDOS said in a statement .

    According to the MDOS, anyone who still needs to schedule an in-person appointment during the closure can go to a different office. Appointments can be made at online or on the phone at 1.888.767.6424.

    The nearest offices are at 1485 E. Apple Ave. in Muskegon and 587 E. 8th St. in Holland. Both are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. On Wednesdays, the offices stay open until 7 p.m.

    The nearest self-service station is located inside the Meijer store at 15000 US-31 in Grand Haven.
