GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The Michigan Lottery is partnering with the Michigan State Police to help spread the Amber Alerts to more people in the state.

Under the new partnership, when an Amber Alert is issued by law enforcement nearly 10,000 Michigan Lottery retailers will receive the information, a release said. The message will be displayed on in-store lottery display monitors including self-service equipment and Club Keno monitors until the alert is canceled.

January 13 is Amber Alert Awareness Day

“When an AMBER Alert is issued, minutes matter. It is critical to disseminate information about the missing endangered child as quickly as possible and in as many locations as possible so the public can be our eyes and ears in helping to safely locate a missing child,” Col. James F. Grady II, director of the MSP, said in a release. “We appreciate the Michigan Lottery’s partnership in helping to spread these lifesaving messages.”
