CASCADE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Kent County deputies are investigating after two kids say the driver of a van asked if they wanted a ride home.

On Tuesday, a 12-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl were walking home from their bus stop on Silverthorn Drive SE near Buttrick Avenue SE when a blue minivan approached them.

The driver, a woman, approached them and asked if they wanted a ride home. They said no but the van followed them for a “short distance” before they made it home, according to the Kent County Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives are investigating and also working with the Forest Hills Public School District. Anyone with information should call 616.632.6125 or Silent Observer at 616.774.2345.
