PORTAGE, Mich. (WOOD) — A motorcyclist was hospitalized after crashing into a van in Portage, police say.

Around 7:13 p.m., a 64-year-old Vicksburg man was riding a Yamaha motorcycle on Romence Road Parkway headed east. A red Ford van pulled out of a business parking lot and the motorcycle hit it, according to the Portage Department of Public Safety.

The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, police said. The driver of the van was not injured.

Police are investigating the crash. Anyone with information is asked to call Portage Public Safety at 269.329.4567 or Silent Observer at 269.343.2100.
