JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A 19-year-old driver was killed in a crash near Cassopolis on Sunday morning, deputies said.

On Monday, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office said that 19-year-old Kennedi Webster of Hamilton, Ohio, was killed in the crash that left four people hurt.

The crash happened around 10:20 a.m. when a vehicle driven by Webster was heading south on Dailey Road in Jefferson Township and did not stop at the stop sign at M-60. The sheriff’s office said that caused another vehicle, which was headed northeast on M-60, to crash into Webster’s vehicle.

Webster died at the scene, the sheriff’s office said.

The driver and three passengers in the second vehicle were taken to the hospital with injuries. Their conditions have not been released.

The sheriff’s office said that it’s unclear if seat belts were worn.

Deputies do not believe that alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.

    The crash remains under investigation.
