WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities say police are investigating reports of shots fired near an apartment building in Wyoming early Tuesday morning.

The Wyoming Department of Public Safety said it responded to a report of a shot fired in the area of 30th Street near Byron Center Avenue, south of 28th Street.

Police said there were no reports of injuries, but there was minor property damage.

A News 8 crew saw police walking around the area with flashlights and collecting evidence. Kent County dispatchers said police found several gun shell casings at the scene.

It’s unknown what led to the shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Wyoming Department of Public Safety at 616.530.7300 or Silent Observer at 616.774.2345.
