WATSON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Two people were taken to the hospital after a crash east of Allegan Tuesday evening, deputies said.

Around 5:48 p.m., an SUV was headed east on 116th Avenue near 14th Street and tried to pass an eastbound pickup truck in the westbound lane, the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office said. When there was not enough room to make the pass, the SUV cut back into the eastbound lane and hit the end of the pickup, causing it to spin out and flip.

An SUV in the westbound lane was also hit, deputies said.

Two people were taken to the hospital, one in serious condition. They were not named by the sheriff’s office.

116th Avenue between 12th Street and 14th Street was closed following the crash for investigation.
