GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A lot of fun is coming to Grand Rapids and the rest of West Michigan this weekend, so there’s no reason to be bored.
Here is a look at what you can do the weekend of Sept. 27:
ArtPrize Closing Ceremony
Hard to believe we are already at the end of ArtPrize this year and it all concludes this Friday with the closing ceremony.
Held outside of the Kendall College of Art and Design, the ceremony will not only mark the end of the competition but also announce this year’s winning artists and pieces.
John Ball Zoo is a perfect place to spend an afternoon and get lost, but you might have even more trouble getting out this Friday.
Locked Zoo: Dinosaur Dash is a new escape room-inspired event where participants have to find clues in order to complete the challenge. The dinosaur animatronics will play a role in finding a way out.
In honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Bricks & Minifigs will host a build-a-thon event this Saturday.
The event will give guests the chance to build superheroes, vehicles and scenes out of Legos, with all ticket sales benefitting childhood cancer research.
For the 48th time, the city of Rockford is hosting its annual harvest fest Friday through Sunday.
The event will include lots to see and do like a classic car show, chili cook-off, beer tent and much more for people of all ages. It’s also free to attend.
Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids is the place to be this Saturday for anyone looking to participate in a 5K or enjoy a block party.
The West Side Walk for Gilda’s will start at 11 a.m. and feature the race along with an after-party complete with music, food, kids’ activities and more.

Oktoberfest kicks off this weekend here in West Michigan, meaning you don’t have to go to Germany to enjoy the fun.
