    Poll: West Michigan, what do you think of AI?

    GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Many industries are still grappling with the ramifications of AI.

    In West Michigan, health care providers like Corewell are using it to help save physicians time on documentation and for patient care. Professors at Western Michigan University are using it to help with group projects , while some local artists are using it as a tool for creativity.

    It also has drawbacks. Local cybersecurity experts say it can be used for nefarious purposes , like creating deep fakes of politician and celebrities. Librarians and artists have concerns about protecting intellectual property and the environmental impact AI can have.

    Still, it seems like AI will have — and is already having — a big impact on local companies and residents.
