DNR: Woman hospitalized after crash at Silver Lake Sand Dunes

GOLDEN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A woman was airlifted to the hospital after an all-terrain vehicle she was driving flipped over on her at Silver Lake Sand Dunes, officials say.

Around 1:15 Sunday, a woman was driving the 4×4 ATV when it “apparently flipped over on herself and she was injured,” according to a representative from the Department of Natural Resources.

She was taken to the hospital via Aero Med helicopter, the DNR said.

It’s not clear what led up to the crash or how serious the woman’s injuries are.

The crash comes just weeks after a man was killed in a crash at the dunes. In August, a dirt bike crashed into the windshield of an SUV and in June, a woman was killed after a Jeep crashed into her at the dunes.

me myself I don't do anything dangerous like get on a airplane a bus a train let alone be at these dunes where an accident and deaths occur all the time it's kind of like enter at your own risk
