SALEM TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Three people were hospitalized after a crash in Allegan County Monday, deputies said.

Just after 5 p.m., an SUV was headed east on 144th Avenue near 30th Street in Salem Township and did not stop for a two-way stop sign at the intersection, according to the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office. The SUV hit a truck headed north on 30th Street.

The driver of the truck, who was the only person inside, as well as two passengers from the SUV were taken to the hospital.

“Seatbelt use” was a factor in the injuries during the crash, deputies said.

The crash also caused a power outage in the area and the intersection was closed for cleanup following the crash, according to the sheriff’s office.
