WALKER, Mich. (WOOD) — Police in Walker say they have identified the driver after a pedestrian suffered critical injuries in a hit-and-run crash early Wednesday morning.

It happened between 3:30 a.m. and 4:05 a.m. on the 1700 block of Wilson Avenue NW, south of Richmond Street NW, according to the Walker Police Department.

Police say the pedestrian, identified as a 23-year-old Walker resident, was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.

By early Wednesday afternoon, investigators announced that they had found the vehicle involved in the crash and identified its driver. They did not specify what type of vehicle it was, though they noted it was not the black sedan that had been circulating on social media.

If you know anything, you’re asked to contact the Walker Police Department at 616.791.6788 or Silent Observer at 616.774.2345.
