GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The Michigan Lottery said a Kalamazoo woman won $2 million from a scratch-off ticket.

The 33-year-old woman, who remained anonymous, bought the winning Colossal Cashword ticket at Hoffman’s Corner Store, located at 5905 S. Westnedge Avenue in Portage.

“I went home and scratched the ticket, and when I revealed the tenth word and saw it was a prize of $2 million, I started screaming! Winning feels good and came at the perfect time,” the woman said in a news release.

The Michigan Lottery said she chose to get her prize as a one-time lump sum payment of about $1.3 million. She plans to pay bills and then save the remainder for her children, according to the Michigan Lottery.
