    GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Spend your weekend enjoying all of the fun events planned throughout West Michigan.

    Here is a look at what you can do the weekend of Oct. 11:

    Fall Bridal Show of West Michigan

    Planning a wedding is not for the faint of heart, as there is so much to account for. Lucky for those soon-to-be newlyweds in West Michigan, there’s a one-stop-shop coming this weekend.

    The Fall Bridal Show of West Michigan takes place Saturday at DeVos Place. You can meet with vendors to plan or get ideas for your magical day. There will also be a wedding dress fashion show.

    Grand Rapids Griffins season opener

    After months of waiting, hockey fans can rest easy knowing the Grand Rapids Griffins are back this Friday.

    The Griffins will take on the Milwaukee Admirals at Van Andel Arena starting at 7 p.m. It also happens to be $2 hot dog and beer night.

    Zoo Goes Boo at John Ball Zoo

    Get in the Halloween spirit this weekend as John Ball Zoo gets a spooky makeover.

    Zoo Goes Boo returns starting this Friday and will be held each weekend through Oct. 27. There will be opportunities for families to check out the animals, enjoy fun activities and get candy.

    Grand Rapids Girls Robotic Competition

    Wyoming High School will host the Grand Rapids Girls Robotics Competition this Saturday.

    The event will feature robotics teams competing in a variety of events along with a panel discussion regarding “Ladies in Tech.”

    Downtown GR Scarecrow Competition

    There maybe a sudden lack of crows in downtown Grand Rapids starting this Saturday as the city welcomes the Scarecrow Competition.

    The event brings more than 20 crafted scarecrows to several areas of downtown for guests to explore and check out.

    Art of Coast Michigan’s Fall Gallery Stroll

    If you’re missing ArtPrize already then you’re in luck. Spend this weekend down in Saugatuck and Douglas.

    The 48th annual Art of Coast Michigan’s Fall Gallery Stroll returns this Saturday and Sunday, giving you the chance to peruse through hundreds of art displays.

    Live firefighter demonstration in Hastings

    You can get a firsthand look at how firefighters handle residential fires this weekend down in Hastings.

    The National Fire Sprinkler Association is hosting a live demonstration to showcase the speed and resilience of firefighters this Friday morning.

    The third annual Boo Bash at Silver Beach is back this weekend with even more fun planned.

    Taylor Swift-inspired event at GVSU

    We’re approaching sweater weather but this Friday at Grand Valley State University, you’ll want to put on that “Cardigan.”

    The Cook Carillon Tower will host Love Story: A Taylor Swift-inspired event. Specialty T-shirts will be handed out and there will be other activities with a Taylor Swift flair to them all night long.

    You can get some holiday shopping done early by heading out to the Kalamazoo Farmers Market.
