Police: Man injured in Battle Creek shooting

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities say a man was injured in a shooting in Battle Creek Wednesday night.

The Battle Creek Police Department said the shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday on Fountain Street near the intersection of Capital Avenue SW.

Police said they found a 27-year-old Battle Creek man with a gunshot wound inside a nearby apartment building. He was taken to the hospital, where he is listed in stable condition, according to the police department.

It’s unknown what led to the shooting or if any arrests have been made.

The shooting remains under investigation. The police department noted it believes there is no threat to the public.
