Motorcyclist killed in head-on crash south of Kentwood

CALEDONIA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash south of Kentwood Wednesday, deputies say.

It happened around 5 p.m. at the intersection of 68th Street and Patterson Avenue in Caledonia Township. The Kent County Sheriff’s Office said a car headed west on 68th was turning south when it collided head-on with the eastbound motorcycle.

Emergency responders tried to save the motorcyclist, a 66-year-old Middleville man, but he died at the scene.

The driver of the car, a 68-year-old Hudsonville woman, sustained minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation, deputies said.
