2 on motorcycle hospitalized after crash with semi

SPARTA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Two people were seriously injured in a crash involving a motorcycle and a semi-truck near Sparta Friday, police say.

It happened at the intersection of M-37 and 12 Mile Road.

Michigan State Police say the driver of the motorcycle and their passenger were taken to the hospital, where they were listed in critical condition.

The driver of the semi was unharmed.

MSP said the circumstances of the crash remained under investigation. The intersection was closed while emergency crews were on the scene but reopened around 4 p.m.
