GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — An intoxicated driver who plowed into a crash scene in southeast Grand Rapids in June 2023 was sentenced to prison for the death of a good Samaritan who stopped to help.

Willie Guydon, 75, was under the influence of cocaine when he plowed into the scene of an earlier collision at 28th Street and Madison Avenue.

Chelsea Anne Belden witnessed the first crash and stopped to help, court records show.

Guydon’s vehicle struck previously crashed vehicles, causing one to hit Belden. The 32-year-old mother died from her injuries.

Make him serve the 22-1/2 years. How many other accidents has he been in that weren't caught. Cocaine is illegal in all states regardless if your driving or not. He should have been charged separately on cocaine use. Both involuntary homicide and cocaine use would have given him the rest of his life in prison.
