KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities are looking into what sparked a house fire in Kalamazoo Monday morning.

The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety says crews were called to the area of Washington Avenue and Race Street around 7:20 a.m. By the time they arrived, the house was already fully involved. Video released by KDPS shows the house engulfed in bright orange and white flames and crews spraying water on the fire.

Everyone escaped, KDPS said, and no one was hurt.

Crews had the fire under control in about half an hour, but stuck around for several hours to douse hot spots and keep the fire from starting again.

The KDPS Fire Marshal’s Office is looking into what caused the fire. Anyone with information is asked to call the marshals at 269.337.8260 or Silent Observer at 269.343.2100.
