Anderson was named interim county administrator in March after former Administrator John Gibbs was fired .

He was a sheriff’s captain for the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department in California. Anderson later moved to Grand Rapids to perform security consultant work for Corewell Health. He then opened a gun shop in Holland.

John Gibbs not surprised he was fired from being Ottawa administrator

Anderson replaced Gibbs after the board voted 10-1 on Feb. 29 to terminate his contract . Gibbs was placed on administrative leave on Feb. 22 following complaints about his behavior in the workplace. He has denied the allegations.
