Operation Green Light aims to honor veterans, point to resources

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Kent County is taking part in a nationwide initiative that aims to honor veterans and connect them with resources.

It’s called Operation Green Light , and it takes place from Nov. 4 through Nov. 11 — the week leading up to Veterans Day. Businesses and residents alike can take part by replacing their outdoor lights with green bulbs. You can also attend the annual Veterans Day Parade on Nov. 11, which is set to start at 7 p.m. at Lyon Street and Ottawa Avenue in Grand Rapids.

“We are excited to shine a green light across Kent County and honor our veterans,” said Kent County Veterans Services Director Ryan Grams in a statement. “This year’s campaign aims not only to light up urban landmarks but also to inspire people from every corner of the county to get involved.”
