    Art show, auction to benefit Mental Health Foundation of West Michigan

    GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — An art show and auction in Grand Rapids will benefit the Mental Health Foundation of West Michigan.

    “Shining Through … A Million Dreams,” which is set for Thursday, Oct. 24 at the Goei Center, will highlight local artists who are living with with mental illness.

    “I do art. It helps me with my depression. I have bipolar,” spotlight artist Annette Gray explained. “I have a room that I go to with my art, and I do my art pieces there. It helps me to focus.”

    Organizers say artists will get 51% of the proceeds from the artwork that is sold, while the rest will go toward mental health programming.
