BLOOMINGDALE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Two people were arrested after shots were fired during an argument northeast of the village of Bloomingdale, deputies say.

It happened Sunday after the argument broke out during a party on County Road 390/4th Avenue near 36th Street in Bloomingdale Township, the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office said.

A Coloma man first said he had a gun and threatened another person with it, deputies say. Then as the argument became physical, deputies say the Coloma man pulled a gun and “started shooting over people.”

No one was hit by gunfire.

The shooter left, the sheriff’s office said, but deputies later found him and pulled him over. They say they seized the gun.

He was jailed for assault with a deadly weapon and another suspect was jailed for simple assault.
