GRAND RAPIDS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park saw record-breaking numbers over the last fiscal year.

More than 785,250 visitors stopped by Frederik Meijer Gardens during the 2024 fiscal year, which ended in September, it announced Thursday. That’s the highest annual attendance number it’s seen since it opened three decades ago.

Meijer Gardens also had its 15 millionth visitor ever in April.

It credited the record-breaking attendance to the national recognition it has received as a top sculpture park, the Butterflies are Blooming spring exhibition , its summer concert series and Grand Valley State University loaning it a rare blooming corpse flower in June .

Located along the East Beltline just outside of Grand Rapids, Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park is preparing to celebrate its 30th anniversary in the next fiscal year. The festivities kickoff with Enlighten , a 1-mile outdoor holiday light show that will run from Nov. 27 to Jan. 4.

“We are deeply grateful for the support of our members, guests, and community partners who have made this significant achievement possible,” Charles Burke, president and CEO of Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park, said in a release. “As we prepare for our 30th year, we remain dedicated to providing exceptional experiences that inspire and engage all who walk through our doors.”
