GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Bricks & Minifigs stores across the country are teaming up Saturday to try and break a world record and it includes two stores in West Michigan.

The Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo locations are a part of this attempt. They will be joining a large group to play a Dungeons and Dragons campaign. Their goal is to break the record for the largest connected tabletop roleplaying game. The current record is 1,200 players.

Their attempt will be from 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Saturday and participants will be playing characters from the collaboration between Dungeons and Dragons and LEGO. Earlier in the year, the companies released a D&D minifigure series.

“Our goal is just to bring more people who love LEGO together, whether it’s kids, adults, whether it’s young builders who are just starting out or whether it’s experienced builders, so from our end, more events is always better because we get to connect to the community, so we hope that there is more opportunities like this,” Julia Peterson, the owner of the Grand Rapids Bricks & Minifigs, said.

Registration for this event was filled fast and all spots are filled. Peterson said their store does have a window that you can peek in at the players and then shop around the store.
