All six of the boys cross country teams in the Your Prep Sports area will open the season in the next few weeks as ranked teams. Liberty High, City High, West High, Clear Creek Amana, Solon and Regina all appeared in the preseason cross country rankings released earlier this week by the Iowa Association of Track Coaches.
Semi-Truck Driver Falls Asleep Causing Fiery Collision on I-96 in Berlin Township
Early morning commuters on I-96 in Berlin Township were met with a fiery scene as two semi-trucks collided, leading to a blaze and a temporary blockage of the westbound lanes. The Ionia County Sheriff’s Office reported that the crash occurred around 9:10 a.m. Wednesday, when a 50-year-old Highland Park man driving one of the trucks fell asleep at the wheel, according to WOOD TV. The sleeping driver's semi veered off and struck another truck, driven by an Iowa man, which led to the Highland Park man's vehicle catching fire.

(IKM-Manning) The parents of a youth who was sexually abused by one his schoolteachers are now suing the school district for negligence. The parents, identified in court documents as John and Jane Doe, are suing IKM-Manning Community School District on behalf of their son, identified as John Roe, in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Iowa.
