Woodburn Police reported Wednesday that officers are seeking the identity of a suspect believed to have walked out of Walmart with $100 he had stolen from a customer.

Police reported that on June 24 at the Woodburn Walmart, 3002 Stacy Allison Way, an elderly customer said that she requested $100 cash back from a self-checkout machine but mistakenly left the money in the machine. A store employee said the male suspect took that money, and when he was confronted by an employee who planned to turn it over to store management, the suspect claimed the money was his and left the store.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, roughly 40 years old and about 5-foot-8 to 5-10 and between 170 and 190 pounds. He left Walmart driving a dark colored SUV.

Anyone who may have information about the suspect should contact WPD Officer Jorge Gaspar at 503-982-2345 and refer to case number 24-8274.
