Despite losing eight all-league performers from last season, Newberg High School football may very well be on the brink of its best season in head coach Jeremy Johnson’s tenure with the program. Who doesn’t love the idea of running among the dahlias in the Fall? Maybe this is the year that the 2024 Canby Dahlia Run 5k/10k should be added to your Fall race calendar. This year, the event will be held on September 14th and there’s a course change ahead. Swan Island Dahlias, the largest grower of dahlias in the US, is the venue for the race this year. The course is relatively flat and will take place on paved public roads with a small stretch of gravel before finishing on grass pathway through the dahlia fields. Troutdale man faces charges for kicking 12-week puppy
A Troutdale man was arrested Monday afternoon, Aug. 19, after video showed him abusing a 12-week-old rottweiler-bull terrier puppy. Merlyn Christopher Blair, 25, was booked in the Multnomah County Detention Center where he faces second-degree animal abuse and second-degree disorderly conduct.
