Why Is Harriet Island In St. Paul Called That?
Thousands of people flooded Harriet Island this past weekend to attend Minnesota's first Yacht Club Festival. Harriet Island wasn't always called that. It was known as Waken Island initially before the name was changed to Harriet Island after Harriet Bishop.

ST PAUL, Minn. — There's only one month left until the start of the Minnesota State Fair and we can already smell the Pronto Pups cooking. Getting to St. Paul and finding a place to park is often the toughest part of a trip to the Great Minnesota Get-Together, as organizers said on an average fair day more than 150,000 can be there.

As Rondo’s Central Village Park celebrates 50 years, double dutch helps reactivate St. Paul parkland
An obscure park anniversary took place in St. Paul last weekend when Mizz Mercedez and her crew set up shop in Central Village Park. Bringing out speakers and 12-foot-long ropes, they began what’s become an almost sacred rite for the sidewalks of St. Paul’s Black community: double dutch. After a year of building community, the jump rope craft is seeing a moment on the streets.
Minnesota Yacht Club Kicks Off With a Perfect Day of Great Times and Amazing Music
I am used to having to drive to another state to get the full festival experience. Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of amazing block parties outside here in the Twin Cities that slightly feel like a full-blown music festival, but it’s just not the same. Well, that all changed on Friday. Instead of driving hours, getting lost, paying for an Airbnb, and being far away from home, I drove just twenty minutes, parked in one of my standard concert-going ramps, walked just a few blocks, and found myself at a full-blown festival- Minnesota Yacht Club.
Reservoir Woods Park Is A Hidden Nature Park In Minnesota Worthy Of A Day Hike
Ramsey County, home of the state capital and fairgrounds, is the smallest, most urban county in the entire state of Minnesota. Roseville, perhaps best known as a regional shopping destination, is the third most populous city in the county. So, imagine my surprise when I found a forested oasis, just south of a major freeway, in the heart of Roseville. Reservoir Woods Park is a true hidden gem, and it may be my favorite new place for a day hike in Minnesota or, at least, in the Twin Cities.

The group has also signed a lease for a spot in the North Loop and will open in early 2025, he added.Nashville Coop and its real estate agent have been scouting for sites in Eagan and in the north metro, said CEO Arif Ahmed.By the numbers: Dave's opened its third Twin Cities location in Apple Valley last month, joining outposts in Minnetonka and Highland Park. Nashville Coop opened its Richfield location earlier this month and has restaurants in St. Paul and Stadium Village. Go deeper: Nashville Coop, Dave's Hot Chicken grow quickly in the Twin Cities Editor's note: This story has been corrected to state that Alex Humphries is Kris Humphries' cousin (not his father).
