Nearly three months after the Alamo Drafthouse in Woodbury abruptly closed when a franchisee declared Chapter 7 bankruptcy, the movie theater chain, now owned by Sony Pictures , will reopen.

On Friday, the Texas-based theater chain announced that all six locations closed in the bankruptcy will reopen in August, including an Aug. 27 opening date in Woodbury.

The other five locations, all in Texas, will start screening movies again earlier in the month.

The Woodbury theater will start its new life with a two-week soft opening, featuring $5 movie tickets and 25% off some food and drinks. The relaunch starts with screenings of some of the summer's most anticipated films, including Deadpool & Wolverine, It Ends With Us, Alien: Romulus , and Zoe Kravitz's directorial debut, Blink Twice .

Anyone who purchased tickets prior to the closure will receive free ticket rainchecks via email. Season Pass holders at the time of closure will also have the chance to reactivate their passes and get two free months.

The company will hold a hiring fair for past employees on July 23, which will serve to make employees whole for lost wages owed before the closing and give them first access to open positions. Rehired employees are being promised a "more robust" benefits package that includes access to daily pay, 401K match, paid medical leave, accrued PTO, and free mental health services.

“Our number one goal throughout this difficult period has been to do right by the former teammates and get back to providing the exceptional cinema experience our guests deserve,” Alamo Drafthouse CEO Michael Kustermann said in a statement.
