A potential animal cruelty investigation led to a drug bust last week in Salem County after a dog was dropped off at a pet groomer and died. Woodbury police say they received a call from the dog's owner on July 12. The owner told police he dropped his dog off for a grooming appointment earlier that day at K9 Kingdom on Woodbury-Glassboro Road and got a call from the business owner, Trevor Hunt, that his dog was dead. This prompted a police investigation of the business that revealed a large amount of narcotics. Police say during the investigation, Hunt became uncooperative and had to be taken into custody. A search warrant was issued for the business and a large amount of CDS (narcotics) was found and seized, according to authorities. Hunt was charged with tampering with evidence, resisting arrest and drug possession. He is being held at Salem County Jail pending a detention hearing. Anyone with information regarding the incident should contact Det. N. Cacciola at ncacciola@woodburypd.com or call 856-845-0065, ext. 142.
