THEATER REVIEW: ‘Amor and Psyche’ plays at Living Room Theatre through August 4
Living Room Theatre in North Bennington, Vt. Opposites attract. Amor, or love, and Psyche, or soul, for example. Psyche represents the spiritual or immaterial part of a human being, while love, or sensual attraction, is the physical side of things. Put the two together and you have the essence of this play: the material and the ethereal in conversation with one another. They struggle to bring their attraction and affection to fruition and come perilously close to failure. However, the soul persists, and the result of her hard work is delight.
Duxbury, Massachusetts, residents killed in fiery Vermont crash
MIDDLESEX, Vt. — Two Massachusetts residents were killed early Sunday morning in a fiery crash in Vermont, Vermont State Police said. Sean Delaney, 19, and Elana Korey, 20, both of Duxbury, died in a crash involving a 2006 Lexus ES330 on Interstate 89 in Middlesex at approximately 5:04 a.m., state police said. Delaney was driving and Korey was in the front passenger seat.
Whoa: Dramatic Video of Whale Capsizing a Boat in New Hampshire
First off, all the boaters are just fine, and I'm sure the 40-ton humpback whale is, too. Now, let's head to Rye. According to Boston Globe Media, a whale breaching our Atlantic Ocean waters of the New Hampshire Seacoast landed on a 23-foot fishing boat, tossing the people into the water. The attached video was captured by a teen named Wyatt Yager, and what a capture it was.
Meet and greet the knotweed goats
The Mad River Valley conservation commissions and Mad Goat Initiative invite all to join them for a meet and greet with the goats on July 30 at Riverside Park in Warren. Come by to visit with goat herders and conservation commission folks, and learn about local efforts to control knotweed here in the Mad River watershed. This is the first year deploying goats to graze the knotweed and organizers want to give you, the public, a first-hand look at how it's going. A small herd of goats has been deployed at Riverside since early July and people can see them in action and pet some of the new baby goats.
