Marysville Peach Festival brings families, business to downtown following historic hotel fire
MARYSVILLE, Calif. — The annual Marysville Peach Festival returned this weekend despite a massive fire downtown last month, which prompted road closures and detours. “It definitely complicated issues,” Event coordinator Kary Hauck said on Saturday. “We were able to adjust [the] footprint slightly, moving north by two blocks. The hotel has never been in the event footprint itself, just outside of it on the perimeter.”

2 found dead in vehicle on Highway 99 offramp near Salida
SALIDA, Calif. — Two people were found dead inside a Honda Sunday near Salida in what officials believe is the result of a domestic violence situation. According to the California Highway Patrol, it happened around 6 p.m. Sunday when officers were called about a possible assault with a deadly weapon on the northbound Hammett Road offramp from Highway 99.
