NY weather update: Flood advisory expected to expire at 12:15 a.m.
The advisory was for Nassau and Suffolk counties. "The Flood Advisory will expire at 12:15 a.m. early this morning for a portion of southeast New York, including the following areas, Nassau and Suffolk. The heavy rain has ended. Urban and small stream flooding is no longer expected to pose a threat. Please continue to heed remaining road closures," states the National Weather Service.

17 cameras are busting speeders on several roads in the Empire State this week. One of them is back in Central New York. The radar was installed as part of legislation, signed into law in September 2022. The cameras move around the state every week to different construction zones in an effort to get drivers to take their foot off the gas and keep workers safe.

The Basketball Coaches Association of New York Summer Hoops Festival is approaching and the Central team rosters made up of Section III boys and girls have been announced. The BCANY Summer Hoops Festival is a three-day event that runs from July 26-28 at Johnson City Schools in Johnson City, just west of Binghamton. Boys and girls from across the state get together to represent their region in a tournament while also receiving training from college basketball coaches and learning about college recruiting.

Man admits abducting N.J. business owner, demanding ransom from his family
One of two men who kidnapped a business owner in New Jersey and drove him across state lines in a U-Haul truck pleaded guilty to federal charges on Monday. From July 8 through August 2, the Floral Park-Bellerose Union Free School District is hosting a Summer Enrichment Program for its students. There are five programs that students may choose from, each one with various classes. One STEAM-focused program offers classes in edible sciences, coding, robotics, rocketry.
