NEW state-of-the-art event space now open at Pepper Place
A new event space has opened at Pepper Place. Called The Sage, the venue is located in the historic Architectural Heritage building at 200 28th Street South, near Ovenbird and Billy Reid. The owners of the new event spot are Paget Pizitz and Harriet Reis, the co-owners of Melt, the popular restaurant at Lane Parke.

Ex-employee pleads guilty to stealing $300,000 from Alabama church to buy gifts for TikTokers
A former administrative assistant at a Tuscaloosa Catholic church has pleaded guilty to embezzling money, much of which she is accused of using to buy gifts for TikTokers. Kristen Marie Battocletti, 35, entered her guilty plea on Tuesday in a Tuscaloosa courtroom to one count of wire fraud involving the theft of hundreds of thousands of dollars from St. Francis of Assisi University Parish.
