Groom Goes Viral For Performing A Special Wedding Parody Of “I’m Just Ken” For His Bride

A groom is going viral after he and his bridal party surprised a blushing bride with a hilarious I’m Just Ken parody.

When Coles and Jordan Prince were planning their May 4th wedding in Woodstock, Georgia, Jordan had one request from her beau. She wanted him to sing her a song on their big day, and Coles was determined to deliver the best performance he could muster.

So while Jordan was busy with ensuring every wedding detail was just perfect, Coles mulled over a few possible ways to serenade his bride, but he couldn’t hone in on the perfect song—until he saw Ryan Gosling sing I ‘m Just Ken during the Oscars on March 10th.

“It all clicked,” Coles told Good Morning America in an email. “Being Ken is very similar to being groom. I think I can make this work. So I started by changing the lyrics ‘I’m Just Groom, number two person in the room’ and it kind of took off from there.”

Coles Gave His Best “Kenergy” During “I’m Just Groom” Performance

In the weeks that followed, Coles got to work crafting new lyrics to the I’m Just Ken melody, and he found that creating a parody was easy.

Coles asked the bridesmaids and groomsman to be his backup singers and dancers, and they happily obliged. While they only had about “20 minutes” to plan and rehearse that day, “It went better than planned.”

“The backup dancers nailed their part and made me look good,” he joked.

Jordan was “very surprised” when her husband stopped the reception to fulfill her request. And it turned out it was more than she’d hoped for.

“Him writing and performing a song parody was the last thing I thought was going to happen,” she admitted. “I was hoping he would sing to me, and he exceeded my hopes in every way. And having the whole wedding party in on it? Amazing!”
