Plea entered for suspect in fatal shooting of Altoona man
EAU CLAIRE COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU) - A plea is entered for one of the three suspects charged in the fatal Sept. shooting of an Altoona man in Eau Claire on Sept. 17, 2022. Online court records show 34-year-old Michael Purnell of Eau Claire pleads no contest to an amended count of felony murder, aggravated battery as a party to a crime (conspiracy.) The men’s 1500 free went to Aquajets Swim Team 17-year-old Jiarui Xue, who finished in 15:57.10. Xue, a Princeton recruit, has been quite a bit faster, holding a personal best of 15:38.14, which he swam at the NCSA Championships in March. Ozaukee Aquatics 14-year-old Grant Freeze had a fantastic swim for 4th in the mile, clocking a 16:13.24, which marks a new personal best by nearly 24 seconds.

RED WING, Minn. (FOX 9) - A Red Wing man pleaded guilty to second-degree murder Monday after the death of an 8-week-old infant in 2023.
