Newsom signs law requiring California high-schoolers to take financial literacy class
High school students in California soon will have another graduation requirement to get a diploma: financial literacy. California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed AB 2927, which requires a semester-long personal finance education course to graduate. The proposed new law requires schools to offer the course by the 2027-28 school year and make it a graduation requirement by 2030-31.

Buck Owens’ Crystal Palace Venue In California Is For Sale
The beloved Bakersfield, California live music venue, Buck Owens’ Crystal Palace, has been put up for sale after nearly 30 years of operation. The space was designed by the iconic Country Music Hall of Famer, and it has been listed for sale by the Buck Owens Foundation, which has overseen the operation of the venue since Owens’ death in 2006. “A combination of this business climate and the wishes of the Owens family members to step back from the responsibilities of management requires finding new owners to utilize this beautiful venue,” the foundation wrote on Facebook. “We know Buck would want us to thank the people of Bakersfield and fans from around the world for all of their support over the past 28 years.
