    Police: Man intentionally hit by vehicle in Woonsocket

    WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — A 30-year-old man was severely injured when someone intentionally hit him with a vehicle in Woonsocket.

    The incident happened around 11:30 p.m. Monday on East School Street.

    Woonsocket Police Chief Thomas Oates said the victim and the driver knew each other and were involved in an “ongoing dispute over domestic relationships.”

    The victim was taken to Rhode Island Hospital, where at last check he was in critical condition, according to Oates.

    The suspect fled the scene. Oates said his vehicle has since been located, but police are still searching for him.

    The incident remains under investigation.
