PROVIDENCE − A 31-year-old Woonsocket man, allegedly run over by a man during a dispute on July 1, died at the Rhode Island Hospital on Saturday.

Michael Lefebvre, 31, of Woonsocket, was hit by a vehicle allegedly driven by Andrew Martin, 37, of Woonsocket, who then fled the scene.

Woonsocket Police Chief Thomas Oates III wrote in an email on Saturday that they are still trying to arrest Martin on a warrant that was originally issued for the attack on Lefebvre.

The attack happened on the night of July 1 on East School Street. Soon after that, witnesses and bystanders told police that the suspect intentionally hit the victim, according to Oates.

By Wednesday, Lefebvre's condition was noted as being critical, with life-threatening injuries before he died on Saturday, according to Oates.

The suspect's motivation involved an "ongoing dispute over domestic relationships," police said Tuesday.

Anyone who has information on Martin's whereabouts is asked to contact the Woonsocket police at (401) 766-1212.
