Junior high school hosts back-to-school summit
WYNNE, Ark. (KAIT) - Students in Wynne returned to school on Thursday, Aug. 1, and Wynne Junior High School celebrated a little differently this year for their first day back. The school held a Swarm Summit where they invited over 50 guests to come and speak to the students about their professions and experiences.
Suspect Arrested on Two Counts of Rape in Paragould
PARAGOULD, Ark. — A suspect is facing two Class Y felonies for the alleged rape of a minor in Paragould. The probable cause affidavit states that on July 24, 2024, the Arkansas Department of Human Services received a referral for investigation in reference to a 14-year-old female being forced to participate in sexual acts with the suspect.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — New details emerged in a court hearing on Aug. 1 over a lawsuit filed against the City of Fayetteville for its rules regarding short-term rentals. According to the lawsuit, the Hauses bought a property in Fayetteville in 2023 to have a place to stay during their trips to visit their daughter, a student at the University of Arkansas who requires regular care due to health concerns.

UAMS Achieves Fundraising Milestone with $40.8 Million Received in Fiscal Year 2024
Aug. 1, 2024 | LITTLE ROCK — The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) reported the second highest fundraising year, raising more than $40.8 million through gifts and philanthropic grants in the 2024 fiscal year. It is only the second time in UAMS’s history that fundraising has exceeded $40 million. In total, 4,711 donations were received in the fiscal year.
