With school starting soon, the Arkansas State Police (ASP) are urging parents to be vigilant against sexual predators that are targeting children online. It's scary to think that this summer, the Arkansas State Police have issued several Missing/Endangered Advisories for missing children and teens, including five Amber Alerts since May.

Unity Health Names Johnston as New President, CEO
Unity Health Board has appointed LaDonna Johnston as its new president and chief executive officer. Johnston, an Arkansas native, holds a Master of Nursing Science from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Harding University. She brings decades of health care leadership experience to her new role.
Emphasis on improving offensive line continues for Hogs
FAYETTEVILLE — The offensive line wasn’t up to Arkansas’ standards last season which matched pretty much that side of the ball. Thus four new coaches on offense this year including Bobby Petrino, who is among the best offensive coordinators in college football. Eric Mateos is coaching the offensive line and Arkansas added help from the portal with four new players. Sam Pittman spent time in the spring and again on Wednesday working with that unit.

Bentonville teacher housing project gets $18.7 million boost
An income-driven housing development for teachers has secured enough funding to move forward with construction. The nonprofit Excellerate Foundation this week announced the commitment of $18.7 million in additional financial support for McAuley Place, which includes housing units designated for Bentonville School District employees and other families in the district.
New mural at KADF honors local hero
A new mural at Dexter B. Florence Memorial Field Airport (KADF) in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, is paying homage to a local veteran. The mural, which was officially dedicated on July 26, 2024, highlights one of the general aviation aircraft seen flying over Arkadelphia daily. These aircraft are used for personal use, farming, and by aviation students at Henderson State University, airport officials noted.
Village Creek State Park to offer free weekend events

Cherry Street bridge in Alma set to be demolished, rebuilt as part of new project
ALMA, Ark. — According to the City of Alma, a bridge will be closed down for over a year, starting Aug. 5. The narrow bridge on Cherry Street that sits between Fayetteville Avenue and Marsha Wooly Dr (Highway 162) will be demolished and replaced as part of a project that "will likely take more than 12 months to complete," according to the city.
