Two 1890 researchers have teamed up to advance biosecurity for underserved family farms. Dr. Emran Ali, Alcorn State University (ASU), and Dr. Henry English, University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB,) will work together to advance their groundbreaking project. The project, titled “Education and Application of Portable Crop Disease Detection Technologies to Improve Biosecurity for the Underserved Family Farms in Mississippi & Arkansas.”

Unity Health Names Johnston as New President, CEO
Unity Health Board has appointed LaDonna Johnston as its new president and chief executive officer. Johnston, an Arkansas native, holds a Master of Nursing Science from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Harding University. Emphasis on improving offensive line continues for Hogs
FAYETTEVILLE — The offensive line wasn’t up to Arkansas’ standards last season which matched pretty much that side of the ball. Thus four new coaches on offense this year including Bobby Petrino, who is among the best offensive coordinators in college football. Eric Mateos is coaching the offensive line and Arkansas added help from the portal with four new players. Sam Pittman spent time in the spring and again on Wednesday working with that unit.

Bentonville teacher housing project gets $18.7 million boost
An income-driven housing development for teachers has secured enough funding to move forward with construction. The nonprofit Excellerate Foundation this week announced the commitment of $18.7 million in additional financial support for McAuley Place, which includes housing units designated for Bentonville School District employees and other families in the district.
