Cannibal fed neighbours 'human flesh' at BBQs and had an 'insatiable appetite'

A man was accused of serving human flesh as the main course to a group of unwitting neighbors before the grim chef was apprehended by the police. In 1999, convicted murderer and child predator Nathaniel Bar-Jonah threw several 'cook-outs' at his house, dishing out burgers, spaghetti, chili, meat pies, and casseroles to his guests.

Yet unbeknownst to those enjoying the feast, their food preparer had a dingy past filled with sadistic offenses and had developed an unnatural interest in the taste of human flesh since he was just six years old.

Born Nathaniel Benjamin Levi Bar-Jonah in 1957, in Worcester, Massachusetts , he was described as having an "insatiable appetite", per the Sun. At the tender age of seven, Bar-Jonah would reportedly peel his scabs until they oozed blood and then suck on them, reports the Daily Star .

Though he received psychiatric care for his bizarre urges during his teenage years, by the 1970s, he escalated to abhorrent criminal acts including kidnapping and assaulting a 10-year-old girl, often pretending to be a police officer to lure kids back to his property across the next two decades.

Come 1997, the Montana police were deep into the search for a disappeared schoolboy named Zachary Ramsay, missing since the previous year on his journey to school.

In the vicinity, several locals attended a 'cook-out' hosted by Bar-Jonah. Guests reportedly complained that the meat served had a "peculiar taste to it." In defense, Bar-Jonah attributed the unusual flavor to his use of deer meat.

Nonetheless, it was discovered that the sinister man neither possessed a rifle nor a hunting license. Furthermore, financial records indicated that he hadn't made any substantial purchases from grocery stores for nearly a month following the disappearance of a schoolchild named Ramsay.

One particular female guest went as far as to describe Bar-Jonah's meat as "repulsive", to which he counterclaimed he had "hunted, killed, butchered and wrapped the meat" himself. Eerily, he was later accused of molesting this woman's child and consuming the child's remains.

During the period of Ramsay's vanishing, Bar-Jonah was thought to be employed at Hardee's, a fast-food chain, and also worked part-time in a kitchen at the Malmstrom Air Force Base. Suspicions arose that he may have exploited these positions to dispose of evidence, possibly distributing the human flesh of his victims to unsuspecting workers.

Following his 2000 arrest, police uncovered multiple recipes within Bar-Jonah's residence with ingredients including parts from children's bodies, bearing horrific titles such as "little boy pot pie" and "french fried kid".

Ultimately, Bar-Jonah received a sentence of 130 years in prison without the possibility of parole for charges including kidnapping, aggravated assault, and sexual assault of various children. He met his demise behind bars in 2008.
